 First off, I must apologize for our lack of continuous posting. The second semester of school has recently begun, and Christine and I both have extremely hectic schedules. Balancing our studies and the blog is definitely a task!! Today, Mother Nature hit the city with a blast of heavy snow ( I believe it is hailing as I type). Luckily for Christine her classes were canceled. As for me, I reluctantly dragged myself to school but my third and final class of the day was canceled by the professor. I believe there will be no classes tomorrow as well as this wild weather continues through the night. 

 

 

  Hopefully, if your area was hit with tons of snow 

you guys were blessed with a SNOW DAY 

and got to stay in bed and relax!

Just a few photos from our casual day out yesterday . We had plans of light shopping at a few of our favorite spots but the winter chill got the best of us and we ended our shopping a little earlier than expected . We did however make time to visit Milk & Honey ( see our first post about this great market here). The atmosphere is always so inviting and the fact that it`s all locally grown products and vendors makes it even better!



The photos were taken with a "toy cam" lens app , which gives them the effect shown . We`ve been thinking about different cameras we want to order to take different variations of photos for the blog and other projects, and this is one of them . I(Christine) am also supposed to be taking a photography class during this semester, so we`ll see how that goes. Look forward (or not lol ) to more posts with different series of random photos as we play around with the various forms.

Earlier this evening, Caira and I met up to go over a few "Luxe things". We discussed just about everything possible from making more time to post this semester to the potential growth of this particular project and others. During our time out in University City, we also went over a few questions that have recently been posed to us(we will share them in another post this week!) However, one question in particular was asked of us while we were out that we felt the need to share with our fellow bloggers : what makes us think we`re any different from another fashion blog out there? To be honest, we`re not even sure how to answer that.

The truth is, neither Caira or myself have aspirations to be "big" bloggers. We do not blog for the sake of recognition , for the compliments on "our style", or in hopes of receiving courtesy gifts aha ( all of which the person was implying was the point of style blogs. Ridiculous right? ). Yes, of course we LOVE receiving feedback, but it does not have to be in the form of a compliment for us to appreciate it. We started this blog to simply document our personal everyday experiences and our interest in all things art & fashion. As we further develop our careers, we hope to document those experiences as well.

Are we looking to make blogging our career? Not so much . Do we find anything wrong with those who do? Ofcourse not. We admire those who are able to take this and turn it into truly remarkable works of art! Getting back to the question =) , one way or another, all of us do have the same intial reason and that is , for the love of fashion whether it be simply surface or for "deeper" causes. (Many would argue there is nothing to fashion other than it's surface and we`d love to prove differently,but that's a different discussion (: )  .

 

So I turn the question to you all,
