Sun in the Afternoon . . .

 Summer Afternoon;

to me those have always

been the two most beautiful words

in the English language.

DIY: Home Edition

The holiday weekend is finally over, June is here , and I am now able to truly unwind and enjoy a few lazy summer days. When I am not occupied with school work , two of the things I enjoy doing most are writing and starting DIY projects. Now that the summer is upon us , I started a small but time consuming project of renovating my room . I'm in no rush to have it completed , I like the idea of slowly building and getting things here and there to add to it`s character. So far , I have painted the walls a calming sea glass color and have picked up a few knick knacks from local flea markets and shops to add to things I already owned. It should be the warm, inviting oasis I'm envisioning by the end of the summer .

"We must always be busy with our thoughts if anything is to be accomplished"

June is already upon us...boy, does time FLY! Although we are only 4 days into June, I predict this will be an awesome month for me! I've realized it is definitely time for me to take charge of my future & begin working towards short term goals as well as long term dreams. I aspire to accomplish so many things and each day I feel  as if my  "Goal List" gets longer. It seems like my life became hectic overnight! I'm not complaining though, because I enjoy being busy. As of right now, I am enrolled in 2 summer courses, working & I have recently applied for an internship at Nicole Miller, in which I hope I am hired (*fingers crossed*). I was also offered the opportunity to volunteer with the company's events and I'm pretty excited!

My dad recently gave me a book to read called, "48 Days to the Work You Love," written by Dan Miller. Uh, borrr-iingg, right? Well, that's exactly what I first thought! I finally decided to crack it open last week and I was surprised at how informative it was. The book touches on SO many topics such as proper resume writing, how to make an impact during interviews, etc.
(basically all the things we dread thinking about, ha ha).

 Since I'm interested in a career within the fashion industry, I've also researched some books that offer a  glimpse into the inter workings of the industry. A few hours ago I ordered, "Secrets of Stylists: An Insider's Guide to Styling the Stars" along with "The One Hundred: A Guide to the Pieces Every Stylish Woman Must Own,"  I can't wait until they arrive!

CHEERS TO THE WEEKEND !

ENJOY !
